The AIU Online Bachelor's Degree Visual Communication is offered to students with an interest in pursuing careers as web designers, animators, graphic designers, computer - based training developers and Flash animators. The accelerated program begins with a foundation in design principles and then applies advanced techniques in the latest software such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Pagemaker.
All required graphics software is included in the cost of the course materials providing students with the training to effectively pursue their chosen career upon completion of the degree.
AIU Online's School of Visual Communication was created to educate and develop
artistic and imaginative students for careers in the fields of commercial art
and design. This Bachelor of Fine Arts degree features a concentration in Digital
Design, a real-world curriculum placing an emphasis on the development of the
creative thinking process.
Students will learn the principles, practical applications and methodologies
used to complete competent and creative graphic solutions for specified design
problems. Throughout the Digital Design curriculum, they will create a portfolio
of projects from each of their courses, the intent of which is to prepare them
to pursue such positions as animators, web designers, graphic designers, Flash
animators and many other creative careers.

Associate of Arts in Business Administration
The AIU Online Associate of Arts in Business Administration degree features
a concentration in Visual Communication. This Visual Communications degree
program combines the business skills from our university's AABA degree program
with specific skills needed for a successful career in the creatively diverse
field of visual communication.
This career-focused curriculum is for students wishing to help parlay their
creative skills into rewarding, interesting professions. Students will study
design principles and techniques for the creation of visual solutions. They
will also be challenged to apply project management skills to design creative
visual compositions.
Students who complete the AABA in Visual Communication will have acquired
up-to-date knowledge that focuses on preparing them to pursue careers such
as Advertising Specialist, Graphic Design Assistant, Communications Specialist,
Gallery Assistant, Production Assistant and many other similar positions.
